Hello, Art Director for Faye and the Wondrous Flame here! October has ended and with it Inktober. For those who may not know, Inktober is a month long drawing challenge where artist create an ink drawing every day. Its difficult and fun, but I'm glad its over, ha-ha. I took this opportunity to draw our protagonist Faye in her many forms and showcase her personality along with her companion, a red fox named Willow. By the way, we will be giving away these original ink drawings with our Kickstarter campaign in the near future!
Let's get into the art.
(Please note: There is one form not mentioned here, we're still working on the design!)
Faye's Flame Keeper From.
For this form she has minimal armor, and wears mostly leather and light fabrics. Her hair is loose, letting all the gorgeous curls free.
Faye enjoys naps, and Willow is always there to join the sleep party.
Faye's Iron Knight Form.
This is her heavy-duty-get-out-of-the-way armor. With hammer and shield, she can smash her way through anything. This form is inspired by medieval armor, with heavy shoulder and waist pieces. Her hair is in two big pig-tails to make sure it doesn't get in her way when she fights.
Making maps is difficult, but extremely helpful for heroes on an important journey!
Faye's Storm Knight Form.
This is a light form, and we wanted wind or air elements to her design. She has a shoulder piece with feather details, monk like pants, and a long sash that blows in the wind. Her hair is up in a high bun, very fancy.
She rocks an awesome Guandao as her weapon.
In her Storm Knight Form, she harnesses the power of wind. This can sometimes cause petals to surround her, but she's okay with it.
Faye's Inferno Knight Form
By far one of my favorite designs! This is also a heavy form, so she has a lot of strong armor pieces. However I wanted to show her feminine side, so she wears a full skirt with an opening in the front. Her hair is in two long braids.
She is an expert a taming flames.
Willow Is Faye's loyal companion!
Inktober may be over, but Faye's journey had just begun! We still have a lot more art work to show and new surprises in store, so stay tuned!
